A Culture of Quality
An ISO-Certified Quality System Developed Over 40 Years

OVERVIEW
High Tech Turning’s ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016-certified quality management system drives everything we do. The foundation of our quality system is the ISO standards, and our Corporate Quality Manual documents in detail the best practices that we have developed and utilized over the past four decades.
Our training program gives us the confidence that every team member is empowered to produce the highest quality components for our customers. Experienced engineers and machinists meticulously review every job to ensure that we have all the tooling and gaging so that the finished parts will always meet your requirements. These reviews are backed up by a comprehensive system of record keeping which documents our results.
HTT continually updates and improves our systems to ensure that our engineers, inspectors, and operators have access to top-tier hardware and software to collect and analyze data throughout the manufacturing process. We use a real-time feedback system so that, in the event of unexpected results, we can quickly adapt our system to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Our Inspection Process
Shipping millions of parts per year requires a rigorous and multifaceted approach to inspection.
Our process dictates that we check a high percentage of parts, but this quality-focused mindset is what allows us to consistently deliver your precise parts on schedule.
Calibration program
We pride ourselves on having excellent measuring tools throughout the shop. All of our measuring tools and gauges are calibrated on a regular schedule by an independent ISO-certified vendor. We also internally verify the accuracy of these tools against a known standard every day before we start production or measure a part.
Raw material inspection
We inspect all materials upon receipt. These inspections include visual checks, dimensional checks, and verification of the material certification. Cast and forged materials are inspected on our CMMs to verify the as-cast features meet your requirements.
First piece inspections
Before production can begin, our inspectors verify a First Article to ensure it meets every dimension and every note on your drawing. These inspections are fully documented and reports are always available upon request.
Inspection at the machine
At HTT, we emphasize quality over quantity because we know only a stable process leads to high production. Our well-trained operators are constantly checking your parts while they work to ensure dimensions are centered within the tolerance range. We have microscopes at every workstation because, at HTT, high-quality surface finishes and burr-free edge conditions are just as important as dimensional correctness.
Verifying production output
Once manufacturing starts, each shift’s output is segregated and independently verified by a member of our inspection team using a 1.0 AQL statistical sampling plan. We take this even further by requiring this step be performed by a different inspector using their own tools.
Outsourced operations
When HTT sends parts out for third-party operations such as heat-treating or plating, our inspectors verify these operations meet the requirements and have appropriate certifications. We hold our vendors to a high standard: we visually check for consistency under magnification and verify all dimensions meet your specifications.
Final inspection
Before your parts are shipped, we perform one final check to ensure they are clean, the finishes are consistent, and the documentation and certifications are all in order and compliant to your specifications.
Record keeping
We’re used to working in regulated industries, so record keeping and traceability are part of our DNA. For every part that goes through our shop, we record who performed the work, who inspected it, and when they did it. All of our inspection data and certifications are kept indefinitely, backed up in our secure digital archive.
“Our Quality Management System is grounded in manufacturing best practices. Because we inspect the output after every shift, our system will catch any mistakes before they become problems. In the rare event of an issue or discrepancy, we have systems in place to perform root cause analysis and ensure we learn from it to prevent future recurrences. This self-improving process has contributed to our decades of success and created a loyal customer base who know they can depend on HTT.”

FAQs
Don’t see your question? Contact us.
What equipment do you have to measure my parts?
We have multiple CMMs available to measure your part. We can utilize touch probe or vision capabilities. And we also maintain a library of calibrated gauges and measuring equipment for use in our robust inspection process.
What is your process for ensuring part consistency and quality?
We’re able to maintain consistency and quality while maintaining tight tolerances thanks to a powerful combination of operator skill and our proven system of daily inspection feedback. Operators are checking parts throughout the day and our inspectors verify AQL samples after every shift. This allows our expert machinists to make adjustments in real time and keep your parts in tolerance.
Can you provide Certificates of Conformance (CofCs)?
Yes, by default we include a Certificate of Conformance as well as material and plating certifications with every shipment. Plus, our quality system is designed to handshake with customer quality systems and provide whatever additional reports or certifications you need.
How do you handle non-conforming parts?
Our nonconformance management process is ISO 9001 / ISO13485 certified and designed to minimize impact on production and maintain quality standards. We use a structured evaluation process to identify, segregate, document, and correct any parts not meeting specifications. We also have a separate system designed to learn from mistakes and generate process improvements to prevent similar issues in the future.
Can you perform capability studies to assess your quality?
Absolutely. Our inspection and engineering departments can team up to produce any type of study that is needed, and we can serialize the parts to connect them with the reports. From basic multi-piece 100% inspections, to Cpk studies with Gage R&R, to statistical sampling throughout the run, HTT stands ready to provide the data that you need to prove your parts were manufactured to meet all requirements.
